Hello! Newly joined because I am desperate! I have 25+ yr old Sun Conure named Cozmo. I have raised him since he was a baby and we are bonded for life. However, he has always been a picky eater over the years. Now he simply won’t eat anything but treats and driving nuts! He is vet checked and all good and vet calls him her “stud puffin” because he’s so full of himself. Vet recommended trying Roughdy bush, he wouldn’t touch it. He’s happy, playful, but won’t eat anything he’s supposed to!! He Rarely eats any of his Zupreem pellets; gets Higgins seed foraging mixture and dried tropical fruit at playtimes. He loves chicken... and pasta. The That’s it he will eat!

Just keep being persistent and offering it to him. My RB2 is the same way. He has his favorites and takes weeks to touch anything else. But he eventually is curious enough and tries it. :) consistency and time. There is no exact “limit” for how long something takes

Search up the forums for some interesting ways to convert to pellets, there are some great ideas out there.

I like to grind up pellets and sprinkle the powder. It would be very easy and tasty for your bird to have his chicken and noodles sprinkled with pellet dust and or “battered” with pellet powder. Chop up the noodles and add a tiny bit of moisture so the pellet dust will stick. It might be that he is just preferring warm and moist food, and with ground pellets that’s easy to do!

Valentine is the same way with her pellets. She wouldnt touch them until I started to cut them up for her, now shes eating and not being so picky. Have you thought about getting dried apple pieces and mix them up in her food to see if that helps. Make sure the apple is in tiny bits to mix with her food.
