Pickles hasn't chewed on her wood toys in a few days

I haven't seen any chewed wood pieces this week. The weather hasn't been the greatest, would this contribute to the lower chewing activity? (Pickles is about 4 & 1/2 months old).

she chewed the wood toys a little bit but not as much as the past week or two.

I did change up her toys a bit so these are a bit new. Pickles loved the new yucca wood and destroyed that last week, I don't have any left so I can't tell if she just prefer the soft wood or just not interested in the other wood toys.

Should I be concerned? She is playing with a wood coin right now.

From what I understand, birds definitely do have their wood preferences. Many enjoy the softer woods, especially when they're younger and figuring it all out. You might try getting your hands on some more soft woods, balsa, thin cuts of pine, the yucca and see if she'll go for that.

Thanks! I'll try that. Hopefully she'll like her old toys as I've put a few back in and see if she'll go back on chewing them. I'll get some balsa wood as well as yucca if I can find some here locally.

Mine go in streaks, some days they will be on a wood destroying mission and others they dont touch them.

Mine will sometimes go 3 or 4 days without even making a scratch on their toys then its gone in a few hrs.

Just an update... Pickles is still not chewing the wood but she is actively foraging for pine nuts/almonds i hid around the cage.

Should I give her smaller pieces of wood to chew on, anything else that I can do to encourage her to go through the wood?
