Peppy.....

Today I went and met with another rescuer. I am going to be fostering (with the option to adopt of course) this bird. Peppy is a 35 to 40 year old spectacled amazon. He has trouble gripping with one foot but he is getting better now that he is being handled more. I am probably going to change his name if he is ok with me doing that. He comes here on Monday

Thanks Saroj! Isn't he adorable? Very sweet little old man who needs some TLC. His previous owner had him for 18 years and was afraid of him and didn't handle him

Yes, he has been vet checked. His foot problem is probably from inappropriate perches He may have arthritis too....

Yeah, he is a little messy I'll bet he will love getting showers I am sure his previous owner didn't give him showers since she didn't hold him

Ok arthritic feet..have some experience in this part. You can purchase heated perches for him, also once he gets used to you walking in warm water in the tub really helps also.

Thank you. He seems to be improving since he came into rescue (it's been a couple of months). I think that he didn't ever come out of his cage and had small, inappropriate perches in his previous home. So hopefully, it will continue to improve.
