Okay, thanks again everybody. I've been watching her a lot so I wasn't messin' with the computer. Especially with the hard losses to our communal flock and my personal fragility at this time, I needed to be very cautious with myself, I hope nobody feels that is stupid or exaggerated.

So she passed a good night as far as I can tell, good poops, kinda dark though, and she is eating her dry food. No juicy things full of water that might make her less tempted to drink the antibiotic water. Although I know many people disagree with ( or both) Cipro, or administering it by water, she tolerated it well last time and it got rid of her infection. I have seen her drinking it. I'm quite exhausted, as I was already at my heart funds' end when we lost all those poor birds a couple of days ago. However, by popular request, a video is coming in a minute of Birdie just now. If ANYONE notices ANYTHING PLEASE TELL me. I love my Birdie and would feel awful if I didn't overturn every stone. She's molting, and IMO looks a little ragged. Oh, and she has allowed a little pinnie head scritching, but no step ups. Back to her usual feisty self.

As for hormonal activity, I just let them, um, scratch their itch. However, cleaning up shredded nests pretty quickly does seem to at least keep eggs from appearing in my house :) Knock on wood, none of my girls have laid.

Now that others have mentioned it I totally remembered: Roca just went through her first spring, and when she's feeling frisky she leans forward like that with her butt in the air.

Katy, was it her posture more than anything that got you worrying? Or was there a physical symptom? Have you watched any videos of GCCs mating? Maybe you should so you can see how they present themselves.

I'm glad she's acting like her normal naughty self!

I really don't notice anything from the pics. I smiled at pic 2 that she can stand on the perch the other way around :D I don't think any of mine are quite that agile!

Did I ever tell you the story of Merlin making godawful hormonal sounds one night at 3am? It sounded like a cross between a pig grunting and squealing and I wasn't sure why she was doing it :hehe: I was worried she was sick, egg bound, possibly hormonal, having a seizure. I sat there with her for an hour while she grunted and squealed and finally come morning listened to another Grey on youtube to verify it was their hormonal sound.

Oh, when Josie's feeling hormonal, she leans forward, butt in the air, flips her wings, and makes these strange grunting/clicking sounds. Anytime I want her to do that (which is never, lol), all I need to do is stroke her back continuously. My dad used to get a kick out of doing this, until I told him what she's really doing :rolleyes:

Gussie, GCC hen, has her favorite humpy toy. When she's "in the mood" she waits till I'm using my mouse, then positions herself partly on the mouse and partly on my forefingers then slowly backs up till her G spot finds my knuckles. :eek: Fortunately she doesn't get mad at me when I interrupt her, the way my male lovebird did when he was having his way with my big toe! :eek::eek:

Judy's video was definitely male behavior IMO although my female conure sure likes to masterbate wtih toys! She's not quite as quick as he was though :D See, Rowdy and Pete are obvious though, doing their thang. Unless you were blind and deaf you would know what's going on. Unfortunately they are not shy and will entertain themselves with guests here :rofl:

Merlin was just sitting there making that horrible piggy sound, but not doing anything that made it obvious what the problem was :hehe: I'm sorry for the poor girl as she doesn't seem to know what to do to find relief. Several times since she has woken us all in the middle of the night squealing and grunting, and probably hoping I was the one who could offer her fruition.
