We currently don't have a bird and recent came across a patty. Can anyone tell me how loud they are? Why aren't they so common? And do they make a great companion? Any advice would really help.

Patagonian conures from my understanding are one of the loudest, if not the loudest, conures. Which makes them very loud  But I've heard that they make good companions

I know they are very hard to breed but the few people I know who own them think they're great pets.

My information comes from the time I volunteered at The Gabriel Foundation, a parrot rescue, They have a handful of Pattys.
Patagonian conures are very loud.
They make sweet companions.
I was surprised to learn they are somewhat nocturnal so their activity times are different than other parrots.

I also heard that they like to burrow into rotten trees...to find bugs to eat!
I'm trying to find confirmation of that fact...but WOW!
I actually was considering a Patty many years ago...but got a Brown Throat Conure (Mylec) instead...
