I just push a small knitting needle through now. originally i used a pair of needle nose tweezers LOL
I put a small circle of wood or a bead on the inside bottom of the cup too so that the whole doesnt spread once its threaded (does that make sense?)

Oooh, great stuff Oknuma! :) I usually put mine on a skewer. I thread them on one down and one up so that they are not open (kind of like a bottom with a lid). Then the girls have to find what is inside! :)

eheh i tried the one up and one down thing and they lasted all of about 5 seconds.
