hey! i am in need of some advice :)

wondering if a cage with the dimensions 83.3cm W x 53.3cm D and 146cm H, (32.6 in x 21 in x 57.5 inches) would be large enough to split into two (have a top and a bottom section) to house two birds. so say you split the height in half-ish. the birds in question are a lovebird and a conure, i know the size is good enough for a lovebird but am unsure if its enough space for a conure (could dedicate slightly more space to the conure if needed but would want them both to be comfy! pls let me know what you guys think

I personally would find this too small for both, particularly the conure. Do you already have both birds?

They are also one dusty & one not so dusty species.

okay thank you! i have a lovie who i’ve had for over a year now (have had no problems with dust thus far) and im debating getting a conure as well, just trying to figure out what to do for cages.

what would be the ideal (perhaps minimum needed, as my space isn’t super big) cage size for a conure in your opinion?

Hey I am rubbish with sizes could you post a picture of your cage

lovebirds and conure are super active birds and they use all space you give them

I suppose it also depends on how much time they spend in cage and how much they will be out flying etc

The dust is also a consideration. There are some threads on ‘old world’ vs. ‘new world’ birds here. The avian respiratory system would also be good to look up. That a human isn’t bothered really doesn’t mean anything.

What’s your lovebird’s name? Any pictures? :)

Cages should be at a minimum one and a half times a bird's wing span. If you go to www.pearlparrots.com under resources, there is a chart on cage sizes.

Minimum is never ideal.
Maybe try moving some furniture around to make some more space?
