So as you know: One of my Parakeets, Heisinbird has terminal Cancer, a tumor in his back near his kidneys that is too big to operate on. He was initially given only a week to live but thankfully, has miraculously lived longer with the tumor growing more slowly than expected. However, I still have to give him pain medicine two times a day. To do this, I have to catch him in a towel and feed it to him with a syringe. It goes without saying that he hates this. This has rarely happened and has so far, only happened a total of three times but after giving him his medicine, his pupils will dilate and he will be extremely still for a few minutes. He may even make small peeps that sound confused and disoriented. He will cling to whatever he is standing on and have no reaction to me touching him. What could be causing these episodes of what appears to be confusion? Is this related yo the tumor?
