Hey guys I feel sorta bad that this is my first post instead of an introduction but I want to know if anybody has had similar experiences
Today, I went into the kitchen and noticed a toxic smell. Turns out, it was coming from a hand sized vacuum cleaner, and when I touched it, the shell was really hot. I removed the shell and found the battery to be the source of the smell and heat. I immediately opened all windows, put all fans on full blast (about 2 per room), stuffed the gap under the door to the kitchen and of course submerged the battery in a cold water bucket , where it is currently swimming.
It took about 10 minutes for me to visit the kitchen where i noticed the smell. The vacuum is faulty, apparntly it was set to ‘on’ even though nothing was happening or making noise. Now the question is, will my cockatiel be ok? He seems alright as of now. I have a bit of a headache from the direct interaction with the battery, but I’m worried since birds respiratory systems are so sensitive. Is there anything else I can do?
