Officially 3 weeks in and he’s officially the sweetest! Despite being mildly distraught that he is completely smitten with Dad and not mom I’m thrilled with this little bird. He already happily steps up, flys over to us (though not on command by any means), spins for treats, and asks for scratches by putting his head in our hands. He is eating well though was slightly horrified by the introduction of pellets which he deemed far too healthy to be delicious, but we won’t push a big diet overhaul yet. He quite enjoys long evening naps on Dad while watching tv and is getting much more coordinated as he gets more time to play and stretch his muscles outside the cage. Words can’t really express how clumsy/ inexperienced he was 3 weeks ago. Thank you all for putting up with my updates no one has asked for! 8E909541-0F04-4C38-98EE-9578E0BE8475.jpeg D60EDC67-DBDA-429D-B5F3-E643B7676C04.jpeg 43EB325A-D306-4731-B8A8-EE5EEB2A2996.jpeg

Guess who is officially out of quarantine! Bo has proven to be a healthy, happy little bird and is ready to join the household
We moved his cage down next to Hobs and officially gave our living room to the birds lol. So far they seem slightly curious about each other but are otherwise acting like they have seen each other everyday of their lives. They are not close enough to touch through the cage, and they aren’t out of the cages together yet but so far so good! Here are some recent photos of the boys. Again we definitely have a daddy’s bird on our hands

We are well over a month in now and are so excited with the progress! So far they have trained their father to give them millet first thing in the morning and sunflower seeds when he comes home to eat lunch.
But human training aside, the birds are creating a nice little flock of 2. They spend most evenings with long periods of time out together. Though sometimes one or the other has to go take a minute in their cage and retry later. Even that has gotten very unusual as they learn that they can simply fly to the other human. They seem to generally appreciate each other’s company though and often choose to sit close to the other’s cage.
Bo has come a long way physically. When we got him he appeared to have very little muscle tone/ coordination. He would often run into things when trying to fly and did a funny backwards scoot on any uneven surfaces. He now can land basically where he wants to and fly somewhat less chaotically. He has even gained enough dexterity to sit on his perch and play with toys with the other foot. This alone is big as he had no clue what to do with toys until this week. Day 3 was full of lots of big steps! He now steps up with a little coaxing of sunflower seeds. He has discovered a deep love of head scratches and thinks hands might not be so bad after all. He even took a shower with Dad and quite happily stood under the warm water to get all clean. He’s singing a lot which is very cute. The only downside is it’s looking like he’s going to be a Daddy’s bird! View attachment 413030 View attachment 413031
Dobby has chosen my sister to be his favorite person, I am protection and walnut provider.... They choose who they choose but it can sometimes change with time.

Almost 2 months now! Wow does time fly…no pun intended. The boys are doing great together and becoming a fun little pair. They for sure squabble here and there like most siblings but there doesn’t appear to be any malice behind any of it. They now enjoy showering together, but lord help you if you put them on the other’s side of the shower perch. Bo on the left, Hobs on the right, no exceptions.
Hobs is a little less than impressed with his brother’s toilet manners. Hobs his always been pretty tidy about going off the edge of things so he doesn’t walk through it. Bo has a more “go when the spirit moves you” mentality and hobs has accidentally strolled through it many times much to his horror.
Bo has yet to say or sing anything which I realize given that and the coloring probably points to a female but oh well. Hobs on the other hand has decided to really show off and has exploded with vocabulary. He knows says “hey pretty bird”, “what are you doing?”, “step up”, “right now”, and laughs whenever we do.
Well that’s pretty much it for our household! Again thanks for reading! 72AEEDB2-B62D-4549-A729-F37CB3EA036B.jpeg 2D00280A-7164-4E1D-8D00-BA44CAA72CA7.jpeg B158EF71-D98A-4DD3-97D6-AA5AA7624399.jpeg 212E9B58-DDF3-4BF8-A933-94724DBB8AC5.jpeg ABE3BC41-9ED9-4013-A8A8-908DABE2C88F.jpeg 00C8B032-BCA2-4120-A147-5668273D9E71.jpeg

We are just over 3 months in to being a 2 bird house. The boys are doing very well and have relocated within the house. We converted a third bedroom into a work from home space/ bird room for us. They seem to really enjoy having a quiet place in the house to go to bed.
As far as siblings relationships go we are doing very well. Sure there are the squabbles but nothing that goes beyond “get out of my space” gestures. Though they have definitely chosen sides when it comes to parents. Hobs is still Mommy’s bird and Bo is absolutely 100% a daddy’s boy. Which we joke about because he bought Hobs and I bought Bo…so we bought each other a bird lol!
It is so fun watching their little personalities come out. For instance Hobs loves really active play like rolling over and being tossed in the air. Bo on the other hand is all about quiet cuddles.
We love our little flock and are so happy that we decided to get the second bird. FFB94CD3-62CB-4BD4-8D53-E39B5C2E067E.jpeg EECB83C9-B595-45BD-923E-C876F17D23FC.jpeg 3FBABF72-3DD9-437E-AEBE-BF7F7666B50D.jpeg 9561EA4E-122A-49B9-9E52-491C6A85BE2A.jpeg

We are now 6 months in to being a two bird household. Hobs just celebrated his 2nd birthday and Bo will turn 1 next month. Both birds seem to be settling in and enjoying having each other as company. They still bicker when in close proximity but they also holler when the other is out of sight. Classic case of can’t live with you can’t live without you. As far as interacting with people they have definitely picked their parent of choice. Bo has only eyes for Dad and Hobs is Mom’s Velcro bird.
