Oscar humping blanket

Recently (last two days or so) Oscar has been humping my throw blanket. He doesn't hump anything else because they're locked away in what I like to call "the cupboard of girlfriends." I don't want to encourage this kind of behavior, so should I take the blanket away?

What do you mean by this?

For me, I´d rather my birds hump their own stuff rather than my stuff.

Take away the throw blanket and he´ll go looking for the next thing... and so on... and so on.

I should mention, the things he usually likes to hump are things like pom poms or small stuffed toys. I've hidden them in a cupboard and he quit humping about two months ago until now that is.

small stuffed toys
If they are small, maybe you could give him one?
I gave my youngest a stuffed whale, I had used it as a comforter for chicks, but he sees it as his girlfriend so I let him have that.
There´s nothing wrong with our birds humping an object as long as they don´t obsess over it, lose weight feeding it too much, or guard it ¨aggressively¨. The alternative is a sexually frustrated bird frantically looking for something to hump, or worse, try to do it to you.

Just be sure there´s no loose thread or parts, small buttons or glitter or anything freaky or dangerous.

Yes, I've decided to give him a small manatee stuffie, no tags or plastic or anything dangerous.

Manatees are one of my favourite animals, second only to the panda.
