Medicating your bird is a necessary evil.
Here is some great info to help you with the meds.

http://www.tailfeathersnetwork.com/b...tingorally.php

Here are a couple of first aid videos to help you if you need to towel them for the meds.

Episode 5. Catching Your Bird.

Episode 6. Toweling Demonstrations.

I recently had to do this with our Blue Headed Pionus Nacho. I felt like such a bully, and he of course hated it. I was afraid it would damage our relationship, but he is still mommy's boy. Yeah!

Great videos. Firm but gentle really comes across well.

Thanks so much for the videos! Just gave Jessie his meds for the first time all by myself ... I expect it won't be as easy when he figures out what is going on.

We've been trying to hide the meds in his food; but we might have to consider toweling him. :ycm:

I just used the wonderful tip on letting the med dose sit for 10-20 min when it has been refrigerated. It seems it went down better for Bodie.

Great read and allot of great information but I have a problem with the restraint ... we do not have to restrain for oral meds we can just train our fids to take meds from a syringe...Training Parrots | Parrot Training DVDS & Books which is easier and way less stressful for everyone
