I am so sorry. It is coming to the anniversary of Buddy's death and it still hits me very hard.
On my birthday, in February, it will be 10 years since I lost my heart dog, Diggity. I still can't say (or type) his name without crying. And before him, Scottie, Last Chace and Another Chance (AC). That's what I get for only adopting or taking in adult, older, unwanted dogs, I guess. As much as it hurts, they were all worth it. I know Major was too. Remember, grief is as uniquely individual as a fingerprint. There's no time limit to grief. The truth is you will grieve forever. You'll never be the same. Just as you were not the same after getting Major as you were before knowing him. Only those who experience great love will experience great grief. Kinda a crappy quid pro quo if you ask me. Big hugs to you, John.

You were a fortunate person to get to share your life with such a wonderful dog. Dog's can become part of us in ways that I can never explain. I understand your pain. Sending you a sincere hug! Do what you can to honour Major and allow yourself to cry. Love is love.
