We went grocery shopping this a.m. and came home to the three tiels shrieking for us & Maxwell loudr than any one of the other two put together...what a cutie patootie...he is feeling a whole lot better for sure...exploring more on the various cage tops..eating like crazy...He is singing a lot more..every once in a while he sings like crazy...we figure out that one of the calls he does is a w himpering puppy!! sounds exactly like a puppy whimpering (there were puppies at that pet store)---and he chatters..but he does at least three bird calls that I have no idea what they are...one has kind of a loud high pitched trill at the end...as for getting different perches and stuff..there is a variety in his cage but he is only in thee when we go out , I take a nap, or at night...but t he perches are useless guys...he is that badly handicapped..he climbs t he ladder but he cannot grip at all..the right foot is paralyzed c ompletely and totally useless..the left foot he cannot grip w ith at all ...it also has a t oe missing...at the pet store he was trying to lean against the ladder ...and in the first cage we had that is what he was doing leaning against the ladder to sleep the poor guy...he loves this new cage much better so he sleeps right on the platform...he can fly pretty good tho..the landings are not too good tho. it is like watching a birdie with no legs at all get around...we have to keep an eye on his wings to make sure they do not get chafed because he uses that wing to help him out, sort of like a crutch..so far so good... so do you think he is ha ppy? is that why he is singing? I have no e xperience with male tiels..we all call back to him...like a circus in here..
