I don't talk much about this guy because I come here for bird info. Odin knows his place when it comes to the birds and he stays in his lane. He came to us in the fall of 2013 and I have to say he was the weirdest cat I've ever had. His behavior was just very different from other cats I've had in my life. After talking with a vet about it, she suggested that he may have been born in a hoarding situation and never learned the appropriate social skills that other cats have. He's been suffering from kidney issues for the last 4 years but has been stable. On Friday he was a little off. Saturday morning he was having a hard time walking and not eating. After a nightmare of nonsense with my regular vet, I took him to an emergency vet. The kidney disease had reared its ugly head and he was in complete kidney failure. We took him home to spend one more night with him and then let him go Sunday morning.

Thanks. This has been tough. I haven't been able to sleep because he's not in the room at night. He was always vocal at night and he frequently woke me up at night with his fussing. Without him there it feels like the energy level in the house is off. The only thing that's made it easier is that it happened so fast and he didn't suffer. The house just feels empty and the birds have picked up on it. Chewy and Poppy have been cuddly the last few days. Either they feel it, or they are plotting my death. :)

I remember when my German Shepherd passed. He used to sleep right next to my macaw's cage.
Chaos (my GW) barked for a few days, made a howl or two, then stopped forever.
I know he missed that dog almost as much as I did.

They do wind their way around our hearts and souls.
