How normal (if at all) is it for a parrot to droop one wing sometimes and then hold it normal the rest?
It’s something that has really puzzled me for the last few days, and I want to hear other people’s thoughts.
For anyone concerned this is not about any of my budgies, they are all doing well :)

Can you explain in detail when and how this is happening? Do you have photos? How does your bird behave at other times? Does it fly or flap its wings?

Female birds droop their wings when they want to mate but it's usually both wings at once and they also coo/cluck softly.

I will try my best to answer your questions as best I can, but it’s a situation I am not comfortable sharing much about at this stage.
I do have pictures but again not comfortable posting those.

I can almost guarantee it’s not hormones.

When it happens it is completely random there’ll be wing drooping in the morning by lunch it’s fine or vice versa.

I have seen the wing stretched and used for balance climbing.
I have only seen flying once as bird is not comfortable around me. It was a short hop/flight and the wing did seem to droop after.

My guess would be (with the limited information) that it is an old injury or arthritis that is possibly aching at times if it is the one same wing and only droops sometimes.

I don’t think it is likely to be arthritis, but I am going to talk to my vet.

Hard to give you advice if you’re withholding information. Sorry.
I understand that. But I answered your questions as best I could, and only withheld pictures.
This bird actually was examined by a vet just last week (will admit it was brief as the bird was extremely stressed), so I am trying to figure out if it’s something missed on exam or something that that has happened since.
With the comments so far I believe maybe it is an old injury, and as said am going to talk to my vet.

Have you seen the pics of Birdie and how he holds his wings? Is it similar?

After looking through his pics this one...

...is similar when it’s bad. Pretend the right wing is held perfectly and the bad one is slightly higher.
The amount it droops varies greatly from normal/unoticable to how I described above. Don’t know if it could be connected but seems to be worse when hot (yes I know birds hold their wings out to cool, but it’s only one wing)

The picture of the little ringneck in the article (in the wings section) is what it looks like most of the time.

If anyone was wanting an update :)
Vet has cleared things up for me. It wasn’t missed on exam, she thinks it’s something that’ll heal well by itself.
