My beautiful koi betta, Nubbins, was found dead on the bottom of his tank. I'm devastated.

Swim free, baby boy.

I'm so sorry.

Sorry to sound horrible but do you know why? Could there be a link between this and the previous death?

I don't know. The water parameters were where they were supposed to be, the temperature was fine, filters working, everything was fine except for the dead fish. They had their own tanks, so they can't have injured each other or anything like that.

So sorry for your loss of Nubbins. Perhaps something was wrong with both fish to begin with?

It's fully possible, and quite likely. Both were petco bettas. I know they often deal with stress, ick, fin rot, etc. I'm glad I was at least able to give them both a good last couple of months.

You did provide them both with good lives even though they were short.

I feel for you. :(
I had a Betta that traveled with me (in a big gulp cup) from Utah to Nevada in the dead of winter.
Betta's have personality and mine was so cool.
He's come and swim near my hand when I was arranging his tank, he'd come to the top and 'kiss' my fingers if I called him.
I also was devastated when I lost him.
Sad their life spans are only a few years. :(
