But, she or he was in my backyard this morning and I have never seen one before, so I came inside and got my camera and took a few photos. Maybe one of the Rosella species?!

Some of the photos aren’t very good — it was raining, so lighting was crappy, and I had to use my big lens (150-500) which makes my hands shaky because it is heavy and the bird was so high up in the tree. All in all, I got at least a couple of decent photos of the cutie. :cool10:

They are beautiful birds! I saw one in a pet store several years ago.

Aww..that is the kind of bird I tried to save that time. A guy had listed it on CL, as being bitten by a cat, and he was looking to rehome it. I talked him into relinquishing him to me, as he needed to see a vet, and he said he didn't have the money. Long story short-I got in trouble for going to a strangers house without Troy's knowledge. I got in trouble for bringing home a sick bird, that could have made our other birds sick, even though I had him far away from them. He was gorgeous. He died the next day.:(
Sorry, his pic just brought back the memory. They are so pretty!!

I'm tired of you aussies posting pictures of your BEAUTIFUL culture of wild birds/parrots!!! Thanks for sharing though! Talking about never wanting to go inside. I'd want to attempt to create a bond. I have a wild song bird who comes over daily during the spring to fall. Haven held him. But he's always here. His name is paco. And he can immatate a cricket at night lmao
