I love my bird Pluto, and usually he runs up to me but two days ago he bit me for no reason. I don't understand what I did because I just was petting his head in his favorite spot and now he won't let me pet him anymore. He flies over and cuddles up against my shoulder (which he's currently doing right now) but won't let my finger get close to him and won't step up at all!! I don't know what I did.. I love my baby so much and he isn't even too old either, just a year and 8 months!!! Help! =(

Sometimes parrots do this! Sounds like Pluto is nearly in his 'terrible twos'.
Give it time, sometimes they grow apart, then they'll get close again. Spearmint currently wants nothing to do with me, sigh, teenagers

Or, he might simply, not want to be pat for now, or ever. Still sounds like he likes you, seeing as he's spending time by your shoulder :), dont stress it!

ugh thank you so much I’ll update if it doesn’t get better but I did mistake it for food aggression once sadly too- he bit me so hard he broke the skin on my thumb and ouch! I thought he grew out of that phase though, maybe it’s coming back >:1

Granted, I don't know anything about your routine with him. But, if it's your hand that he's biting but still wants to be with you, it's likely he's formed a negative association with your hand. It seems like he wants to be where he wants (on your shoulder) and has learned to associate your hand with being put back or taken to where he doesn't want to go. Be aware also, and I must mention this, that the life stages of parrots do not parallel ours, nor does the psychology of their instincts and behavioral drives. It may be cute to associate the two in behaviors we find similar but we ultimately have a responsibility to understand them for what they are.

On this point, sorry if I'm missing something but too old for what?
