Newspaper Shredder Toy

A good one, nice and easy to "refill" and a favorite here!

I have a friend that delivers newspapers, she gave me a bundle of old ones that they just discard and can't use. I cut them up into small pieces, and took a plastic chain that I had in the cage that they never used. I took about 3-4 cut-up pieces, folded them accordian style, and then put them through the chain link, then fanned out the pieces. I did this in several links in a row and hung it across the cage along multiple perches so that multiple birds could access it at the same time.

It takes my 7 budgies a few days to completely dismantle this one, however I think that 2 of them are the real workers at it...

Koba would love shredding that to pieces. Maybe hide a treat or two in between some newspaper to double as a foraging toy as well? Thanks!!

Yeah? Maybe would work, or you could maybe do like the whiffle ball toy - and hide it in a square, and stick it through the link, and fan it on the other side?

I'm glad everybody's fids seem to love this toy! I know that my budgies LOVE it! I can put it in their cage and they are chewing on it before I even walk away!

I do this same thing but I twist food in the middle and let Kiwi forage for her treats. She loves it!
