Today dad and I built the birds a perch with beautiful wood from a bottle brush tree! The outer bark is slightly spongy so it's great for them to chew and grip onto!
I read bottle brush branches are really good for birds and they seem to like it so far! It's nowhere near finished and I'm not sure that's the final location either but I'll keep posting as we add onto it.
The toys were also put on just so I have an idea of what I want and where, nothing is final we literally just built it today. I've purchased lots of kids toys and pet toys to pull apart and form into new toys for them too!
I'm also planning to wrap the centre planks in thick natural rope so they can easily climb and have something else to chew on! I'm eager to get to work but unfortunately I'll be out of commission for at least a week or so as I'm leaving to have surgery tomorrow. Wish me luck!
