Hello everyone. I’m new in here.
I recently became an owner of 2 budgies born in the end of 2019. I took them from a pet shop and they were not hand tamed. However, they told me they already are a couple.
It’s been 5 days since I have them and I am already able to put my hand inside the cage with some food on it and they eat it by standing on my fingers. However, they are still very suspicious and careful! I hope on day (soon) I will be able to tame them more properly.
This is my first time with budgies, so any suggestion to optimise my taming process is welcome!

Welcome to the Avenue! The fact that it's only been five days and your budgies will already stand on your fingers is amazing! For some it takes years for their birds to become comfortable near them, so you are definitly lucky. I would keep going with your current process because it seems to be working.

Just want to add that based off of your prof pic, you have dowels in your cage, and it would be best to replace those with natural perches if you're able to get them.

:welcome2: Yes, that IS amazing that they are eating off your hand after only 5 days.
You can use the search feature (top right) and put in something like 'taming budgies' and find all sorts of informative info. We would love to see photos, if you have any!

One thing -
In case this is your first budgie;
I always try to remember to tell new bird owners that budgies/parakeets hull their seeds, and the seed dish can look full when it is only empty hulls in there. Just a cautionary note to add fresh seed and water daily.

Congrats on getting your budgies. Post some photos (in addition to the Avatar one) when you get a chance. What are their names?

Beautiful budgies and photos!

A question and a WOW! I have never seen a cere like your blue budgie has.
It looks like someone took a black felt tip marker and colored his/her cere!
Has anyone else noticed how dark the cere is?
