New Oven Questions

I have a question about ovens.....I had to buy a new oven 2 yrs ago but I'm afraid to use it because of the fumes. It is NOT a self-cleaning oven. I am using the stove but would really like to use my new oven. Is it safe to use the oven with my two birds? I have an African Grey and a Cockatiel. I didn't know how to start a new thread. Thank you.

Have you ever used it at all? If not, basically you can off gas it by running it at 500 degrees for several hours (mine took about 6 hours) with birds outside and windows open. If it's cold where you are, take them to a friend's or board them for a night. After that, it shouldn't be any problem
