Yep we did bring him home.
He's very sweet but very timid.

Have not tested him around the birds yet but judging by his personality he probably wont bother them. He didn't seem to notice the cat.

I think I'm going to name him Panic. It suits him quite well.

I have to make an appointment to get him neutered and he needs a dental and heartworm/shots.
But she did give him to me for free so thats good:heart:

His skin conditions are pretty bad. Red irritated belly, and extremely dry skin. An oatmeal conditioner fixed up some of the dandruff. He's nice and soft and shiny now.

Potty training is going to be interesting...he doesn't know leash skills:rofl:

He is really cute, I'm glad you got him. I have to say though, that I would advise against naming him Panic. I never like to name animals anything that is negative. He is a fearful guy and maybe something more happy and outgoing would suit him better.

He is gorgeous!

I think I can see his pink/red skin.

Is he allergic to a certain food. I know MANY dogs are allergic to corn, whea and soy and animal byproducts. Along with this and eating a vegetable based diet, may cause skin and coat conditions too.

What kind of diet is/was he eating?

Congrats! They are such cute dogs. They sure can run fast and love a nice stretch but after that it is into your lap for a nap. My Sophie (11 y/0) was trained for performance sports and her favorite is agility. Ig's do well at this. They are not the quickest learners but they make up for that in charm/

Good luck and have fun. They are nice and clean animals. Mine leave the birds alone. When my B&G gets in a nesty mood she scares everyone away. Sophie just jumps over her and out of the way. They can truly jump great heights for their size. They are not as fragile as one may think.

He is a cutie! He is very allergic! You can see his red feet from licking. My recommedation is to not try and treat this yourself. Many vets do not know what to look for when treating these conditions. My sister is a vet tech for a Dermatolgy vet specialist. She told me some people spend thousands of dollars before they end up at her office and the problem is successfully treated. Ask you vet about referring you to a dermatology vet so this little guy can have some relief.
My sister has an IT. She said they are very difficult to housebreak and most do best going on pads or doggy litter boxes. Good luck with you new fellow!

Yes his skin is very irritated. They had him on Diamond (just the regular cheap crap)
And he was a kennel dog, so he was either living outside or in a small kennel in the garage I don't know, she had him out holding him when we get there. We knew the conditions were bad so we didn't even ask to see where he lived. We just wanted to get him and go.

Judging from the places he is irritated at (feet, and belly) I'd say he was living in his own waste.
His skin isn't TOO bad. It's just irritated, the dandruff mostly cleared up.
I am a dog groomer so I see TONS of horrible skin conditions (mostly cocker spaniels)
and he's really not that bad.

We have him on iams because we haven't been able to afford taste of the wild from month to month lately, but we are able to go back to that now
(I trust iams over all the other cheap crap foods)
TOTW is an amazing food and does wonders for skin and coat.

I am going to pick up some fish oil when I run to the store later.

His vet appointment is Thursday he will be getting heartworm check, shots, neuter, and dental work. I will see what they think about his skin but honestly I think he will recover just from being clean and having oatmeal baths/fish oil.

He's got a teeny bit of weight to gain as well.

Doing much better today. For not being on a leash in 3 years he is doing well on it. He went to work with me today and sat in the kennel with my poodle and was very well behaved.

He slept in our laundry basket last night, his choice, have no idea why, but whatever he likes LOL.

Oh, that is great you are a groomer. I am too! You know it might be urine burn if he was crate kept. He is a cutie though.
