New Galah dad

Good evening. I'm excited to be a galah dad soon. I was with the baby today for an hour and he/she just cooed and fell asleep in my arms. I could tell the other parrots who were out of their cages that day wanted in on the action. They kept looking at the baby and showering both of us with attention. The baby is eight to ten weeks old. He/she is not weaned yet so is not ready to go home. The seller is letting me bond with the bird so once weaning happens he/she knows who I am when I take it home. DNA sexing will happen soon. Then I will pick a name based off of that. I am ready to shower this baby with attention, love and support. I am open to all guidance and advice. Eventually I want to have an outdoor flight cage for the bird to exercise in. I am excited to learn from all of you.

Ask your breeder if you will need any hand feeding formula for comfort feedings. Sometimes some babies even weaned still want/need these feedings once or twice a day. Another awesome bonding experience!
