I’d feed whatever they were eating for now. Meanwhile, I’m sure some cockatiel people will show up soon!

Not sure what they were eating before but this is what i got for now, can always buy something else in the future, is it bad for them though? it says it should be 30% of their diet so i'm not sure

Its a mix of seeds a pellets. Nothing wrong with that. Cockatiels need some seeds. You would be feeding it vegetables etc.. on top of that i would assume.

It will be fine till you settle and get sorted.
It says it should be only 30% as birds do much better health wise on a varied diet than they will ever do on a seed only diet. Pellets, veggies, some seed, sprouts, grains, legumes etc should be a daily part of diet for birds so the rest of the diet is recommended to be filled up with a variety of other healthy vitamin filled foods.

If you don't know what they were eating before, then try offering everything and monitor to see what they will eat.
Have your seed mix in one bowl, get another bowl for some pellets, and then use a small plate/saucer (or another bowl if you want) to put a few little veggies on daily to try.

If my birds went right now to your house, and you don't know what I feed them, and offer seed, they will happily eat all the seed up. But if you offer seed, pellets and veggies, they will eat it all ;) So while you don't know what your bird was fed before, they might like pellets and veggies too.

Like others have said already a variety is best. So offer plenty of healthy options and see what they'll eat. I personally feed a mix of fresh foods, freeze dried (popcorn will boycott fresh veggies for example but happily munch on freeze dried), Harrison's pellets because those are the ones he actually eats, and volkman for dry seed mix.

However just because those are what my bird will eat, doesn't mean that's what will work best for your bird!
