Pictures New Cage for Mickey

Took all of an hour cleaning and reassembling the thing but it's good as new. He's been exploring it so far and he's been having a tough time getting around it. Ordered some perches and got him a few new toys to see how he'd like shredding. Also got a nest he liked sitting in before he topped it over and fell out. Gonna try and get him a water dish to bathe in today, he showed signs of wanting to bathe in his waterbowl, so maybe that will be something he'd like doing today.

P.S I'm fairly certain there are gonna be people saying he either lacks amenities or the cage bars are too wide. I've got some perches and ladders coming in the mail, and after my bird keeping relative gets off of work, she offered to help me make some more horizontal bars to stick on the sides for him. I'll update if that happens tho.

I strongly suggest that you remove anything remotely similar to a nest.
They can go crazy hormonal and defensive even with a cardboard box... Imagine what a nest does to them!
Cockatiels do not need nests, unless you have a pair of opposite sex and want babies. Even 2 boys can get nesty, or a single boy, and you'll end up being attacked if you put a hand in the cage.

Yeah, haha. Had my relative come in to view it and she said I got a nice deal on it. 140, a little rusty and the hinges need greased, but other than that she said it was perfect. He'll definitely need time to learn to move around the cage with bigger bars.

Already took it out. Initially it had some food in it but then the metal bowl holder it was laying on broke and he flipped out of it. Getting him another food bowl tomorrow and a deep plate to take a bath in. Smelly lad needs a baf.
