Definitely both. I don’t know the ratio for budgies, but I think too many seeds is hard on the liver, and too many pellets is hard on the kidneys. They also need plenty of fresh goods and veggies. Variety is key.

When a new bird comes home they'll often be so scared of the human hanging around that they won't eat. Or rather they watch the human so much they won't put their head down to eat from a dish. Guaranteed as soon as you leave the room this little one was eating.
25-35% seed, 25-35% pellets (can be mixed varieties), and the rest fresh and cooked veg and fruit.

Ok thank you! I’m planning to switch them to higher quality pellets and seeds down the line. I was actually able to catch Sunshine at the food bowl the other day. Of course, she flew away as soon as she saw me.:sad14:
