I brought home a new baby on Wednesday. 6 week old green cheek. I don’t have a name for sure but like Pebbles or Mowgli although I don’t know the gender. I’m hand feeding baby and I can’t believe the changes already in abilities etc. very sweet clever little one.

Another photo dump! Well, the name is officially Poppy! Just the silliest, sweetest and cuddliest little creature. I was gone for a few days and missed him like crazy. He flies around the house and hangs out on my head hands and shoulder. I have him out of his cage for most of the time we’re home. Not very loud at all. Loves to give kisses when I first take him out of his cage in the morning. He’s so tiny I do worry about him so that’s a bit of a down fall but it’s a plus when it comes to space etc. I have a large cage for him but he doesn’t require massive chunks of wood or huge cage. So size is an advantage as well. I’m very happy with my choice of bird. He lets me do just about anything with him. Very trusting.

I’ve had this lovely being for a year now! The other day I picked up a betta fish and Poppy wasted no time welcoming him to the family. Both the fish and the bird amused each other for a long time ( 5 minutes) which is huge for either considering one’s a fish and the other is adhd. lol. Actually, people underestimate the cognitive abilities of fish and birds all the time. They were both super cute.

Thank you Pixiebeak! I’m fortunate to have them and also, dang right around Christmas on a really cold and snowy day I walked outside to rearrange some stuff on my deck etc and all of a sudden realized Poppy was sitting on my shoulder enjoying watching me fuss with various stuff. I am so fortunate that he didn’t get spooked and fly off. No harm done. But wow what a dumba$$ I am some times.
