I am going to be placing orders with mutiple stores this week for items I need here for the fids..rescues and pets.
BUT......

I am having a hard time choosing toys and such......

Can some of you guys help me out? I would like to see pictures of toys suitable for these species that allow shredding, hanging, foraging...etc. the sizes is what I see as a hard decision at the moment. What I see looks like a Macaw toy..is really made for a smaller species..the pictures are really throwing me off....I dont know why.

HELP!!!!

The species I need toys for are as follow......

Macaw
U2-M2-LSC
Conures-all size for conures!
African Grey

Perches , boings, and hanging playstands or table tops, floor stands for.....
Large
Medium
Small

Easy to prepare meals -COOKING- running out of recipes to use and the fids are getting antsy. ghahahah

I like toys that I can reload. I like leather ties better than anything else because they can be reused over and over. Pauly rope, once the toys are off, is hard to restring. Truely's best toy is a large leather doughnut with about 8 holes drilled in it. From this hangs long leather ties that I fill up with drilled wood pieces, wood spools, plastic toys, beads, grapevine balls, flotsum and jetsum from dead toys, etc.

I knot it a good one between each thing so it takes her awhile to get them off. She plays with this everyday.

I also drill holes in bottle caps which provides a cheap sturdy "bead" that can be used again.

I take small paper bags and put about 3 together so it's not so easy to rip and put in popcorn, beads, wood chips, etc. tie it shut with a leather tie and hang it from the cage. She loves to beat this up

I always try to put a ruler with my items or some sort of object such as a qurter give an idea of the size of a toy part. I see alot of toy chainbases that can be refilled. You can find the toy bases at

The absolute BEST toys for any size birds are shreddable Yucca -- for the large birds we have the Kiote Halves and Large Kiote Halves -- I haven't seen a bird yet that doesn't love the stuff! Since we get it in bulk and cut it, it's a bargain too compared to similar stuff! And the best way to hang it is on SS skewers (Hangin' Rounds are the absolute best) -- indestructible and have so many uses.

You can get toys that have been designed because they look good to people or that are not destructible, but it's not what your bird would pick! You can take the Large Kiote Halves and place pine nuts or pistachios inside them by drilling small holes and you have the ultimate safe foraging fun!

For smaller birds our Kiote Koins are a great foot toy, and ours are priced at a fraction of what you can get elsewhere because, again, we cut from bulk!

Shreddable perches -- Cajeput and Birch are great toys as well as perches!

If you're looking for something simpler, I really love feeding Goldenfeast's Gardenflora II mixture. It's a mix of Dehydrated sweet peppers, carrots, cooked, sweet potatoes, peas, cooked black bean flakes, air freeze dried celery, zucchini, cooked sweet corn, blueberries, raspberries, green bean flakes, dried cane molasses, and dehydrated hibiscus flowers

Goldenfeast: Gardenflora II

The Gardenflora II is a cook & serve treat, so you can feed it all dried, in dishes, or you can add 50% hot water and let the mix reconstitute, so it's like feeding fresh fruits & veggies, without all the hassel of preparing them each day, and the added expense of buying them fresh from the g-store and the obvious pain of fresh foods spoiling before feeding.

Goldenfeast also sells a wide variety of individually packed dehydrated fruits & veggies; which is *SO* convienient:

Dehydrated Fruits | Dehydrated Vegetables | Dehydrated Bird Treats

And then, of course, the nuts & seeds:
