I ordered from Sweetfeetandbeak.com, not Amazon. Amazon is taking sooo long these days.
Whatever do you mean? We pay for two day shipping as PRIME MEMBERS! Don't get me started...

For anyone who uses the pumice perches for their macaws, is the plastic hanger sturdy?
Yes they are, the hanger is much sturdier plastic than I thought it would be. The only thing I didn’t like was that I was not given a choice of what angle of bars I’d like to use the perch on. I can only use my plastic pumice perch on vertical cage bars.

This is the the manzanita perch, and it's mount. I like it a lot.
The other I ordered was supposed to be the xlarge pumice, and they sent me the concrete one. :(

We'll see if they'll fix it.

@macawpower58 Thank you, Becky. I was worried about the plastic that goes around the cage bars snapping.
That looks like the exact same plastic holder that they have on their plastic pumice perches too. It is a much better quality plastic than the stuff that some foraging toys I got were made from. The perch I have has held up fine for two years so far.

Very pleased with the service from Sweetfeetandbeak. Very fast answers to my messages. Corrected the problem super quickly.

They have already given me the tracking number for the correct perch, and told me to keep/give away/donate the cement one.

Update.

The company was great, and sent my right perch out no problem.

Problem is the manzinata pumice perch has a horrible mount that I just can't get to work.
The plastic end does not screw down tightly, as you tighten it, it 'pops' back to the previous ring making the perch loose and wobbly on the cage bar. Maybe my cage bars are thicker than the ones they test it on, but I'm not happy with it.
Will be drilling a hole and putting in bolt and washers.

Nice perch if it worked. :(

I ordered one of the Manzanita ones and haven't had issues with it. It does sit tight. But yeah, maybe it's an issue of bar thickness. I wonder if you could put something like a cardboard spacer in between the two pieces to get a more snug fit?

My cage does have thicker bars than the cages made now a days.
I also tried it in my Zons cage though, his bars are normal.
I saw another review on the site with the same problem, maybe the mounts are hit and miss?
I'm going to drill a hole and put a bolt and washers on it. This way I can also use my horizontal bars.
I do like the perch.
Now to 'google' how to put in a double threaded bolt!

Wrap the threaded part with some tape to thicken it up a bit (cut out the slot after with a razor knife) and try screwing the nut on again. should make it hold tight.

I was going to suggest plumbers tape on the threads. I've had to use that on a few perches

That is a shame. I have had the same problem with a few foraging toys that I tried for Michael.

I was also thinking of exchanging the screws for ones that sink in more (smaller heads) thinking the one they used were sticking out a bit and may be holding the mount from getting a good grip.

I'll try your idea too, thank John.

Also if the bars are real thin then it squeezes the thread too much making it skip. A tiny spacer in the slot to keep it spread the right distance will also work.
