A clear plastic container might work better than a bag or broom. If you can find him on a flat surface, like wall or table, set the container over the frog to trap him, then slide a piece of paper or cardboard under the container, so you can pick up the frog.

Frogs can jump away quickly when threatened, but they tend to freeze and hope you don't spot them most of the time. Kind of like tiny rabbits.
Excellent idea! thanks! I’ll have a partner in crime in three hours to help with the frog hunt :roflmao:

Yep. I can vouch for their love of shoes. They also love my compost turner and the old hammock I should have taken down years ago. Now I leave it up as an easy spot to check when I am frog hunting with my niece. Never lets me down.

I’m serious. They’re dark and a nice size and frogs love them!

Jack says the shoe is a great idea! He’s taking the cat food dishes out right now so I’m expecting him to provide a shoe forthwith

Sometimes when I went on vacation to South Carolina we would end up with little anoles and other lizzards in the screen porch. No idea how they got in but it always took a while to get them back out (one time it took 30 minutes to catch one, and that was with two people with tupperwares)

I have found that frogs are often easier to catch than lizzards so be glad it’s not a lizzard that snuck in :roflmao:

Putting something over the frog is the best way to catch it (this method has been tested by me, a lot of froggies show up in the summer, mainly young grey tree frogs and spring peepers) you could use your hand, a tupperware, even a butterfly net, fish net, etc. could work out. Good luck catching the frog!

It’s thunderstorm lightning like crazy! Jack got froggie to jump into a small opening in a box and deposited him outside where the rest of his green froggie friends hang out. So that’s that. :yes4:

Sure was a cute little green fellow!

He'll have more food outside though.
