Hey guys um this is my first time posting here, i hope i'm not messing anything up, and i don't really know much about how this works but i've been needing help getting my little one to the vet and i had no one help me in my life! So i need to figure it out! Maybe you can help?
Vet is 4 hours away by car but i can't drive and i don't have someone to drive me. Vet is 6 hours away by bus, from which 1 hour is a break, and 6 hours straight by train. Little one (lovebird) was so stressed last time she ate almost nothing the 3 days we were there and we went with the car that time. I'm scared this longer travel time and staying there overnight (and the medical procedures) could kill her... the medical procedures would be risky enough already... help?

Hii!! Thanks for the reply but i live in romania and i have seen the vets in the surrounding cities and they had very ... unpleasant treatment plans. I haven't called the vet i am planning to see since we established last time we need fullbody tests last time and also i'm not sure if i can even get there or when... that's why i need help asap so that we can get there to even begin the treatment plan!
Ps: what i mean by unpleasant was prescribing very basic treat all antibiotic that didn't work and uh overall very unskilled non avian vets... they literally said it themselves that they don't really work with parrots... and the prices weren't worth it either for that....

The thing is i think i need help with transportation mostly so maybe i should post this somewhere else? Where people know about traveling with birds/transportation? I am just so worried about my little one's health while i can figure things out....

Can you post on local social media pages (Facebook, etc) to see if someone can help give you a ride? Any friends to call in a favor with?

What is wrong with your bird that a vet trip is necessary for it just now?
My concern here is that you state they are unskilled etc so with that in mind it really seems like it is not of any use taking your bird there unless there is a particular thing they ARE able to help with.
My suggestion would be to see if you can do an online and or phone consult if no tests or hands on is needed for the vet.

I'm not old enough to have facebook friends (just turned 19) and that as well is why i also don't know many people that could help with a drive like that+ too many hours. If it was shorter, there was 1 person but there's no way i can ask a 10/12 hours rountrip ride.
I think i found a local app that connects u with riders that are going longer rides from city to city and i found some pretty reliable options! I think i'll take that! Thank you for messaging me though!! Means a lot to have people try to help!!

Yes, But this one is the only one who actually works with parrots since the entire clinic is backed/funded by veterinarian college/university, and i went here before and they seemed very professional and that is why i would like to go there. Also seizures/convulsions is the reason I need help asap! But as i said in another reply to someone else i found a local app that connects you with drivers doing longer trips from city to city and that seems reliable! I think i'll choose that! So thank you so much everyone!!!
