So Barbie is out in the summer sun in a big cage every day to keep her busy, (and her feathers unplucked)

Im working from home and pop out to the lawn now and then to see if she has food and water etc.

Went out at lunchtine. No bird. big empty csge. WTH?. Doors locked nothing wrong.

Say out loud.... Wheres my baby?. Chirp in response from the vine growing up the wall. There she is. Footloose and fancy free. Happy as a clam...

She popped onto my finger (not always a certainty) and into the house with us.

How did houdini do it?. She found an opening for a nestbox that I had closed with Proper cage bars and attached with cable ties

She simply picked them apart and

VOILA!

Its mainly luck she stuck around. She's a highly intelligent and curious birdie. But it helped that her best friend had his cage parked in the window inside, looking out.
Maybe she didn't want to stray too far from him?. But she was playing away and totally invisible to the human eye, in the grapevine

More lucky than finding her, is that she jumped on my finger. She loves me to bits but she knows I often restrict her movements. She could just as easily have flown up on the roof to laugh at me. Great game, papa. Now its YOUR turn to fly up...

People wonder why I keep so much vodka in the house.......

So scary. I am glad you got her back. Mine have escaped zip ties so many times but never outside. Houdinis indeed.

Your really lucky she was so bonded to you and her flock. Lurch really wanted to come to me but was afraid to fly down and it sounds like she did that as well.
So glad you got her back safe and sound :xflove:

@Irishj9 I would have cried, had heart palpitation's then possibly resorted to some sort of tranquilizer. Doc says vodka no Bueno. I put Mango in his cage, by the window overlooking the pretty blue water in the bedroom. Then close the door just to go to the mailbox. I know, I know, its a little extreme but Houdini has Feathers ! Glad everything turned out ok. How was the Vodka ?
