Napping??

How much time do you think your fid spends napping as they get older? My husband has been freaking out a bit lately that Gracie has been sleeping too much but he does the same thing over his grandma who is 92 years old. i tell him to let her sleep as much as she wants as she is allowed and I tell him the same thing about Gracie.

It's a fine line. Is the amount of napping that she's doing excessive from her normal? Does she see the vet regularly? When was her last vet check? If your 6th. sense says something is wrong, out of the norm, excessive, see the vet.

My girl is approx. 50, she's not a napper as long as she gets her 12-13 hours of dark uninterrupted sleep.

Rocky was the king of the afternoon snooze. just like mom. he was not sick at the time.

Is your bird perky and active when awake? Sunny will be little crazy bird and then tucker himself and need a cat nap. He doesn't seem to really sleep that long. And will repeat the same through out the day.

I was tempted to adopt an old lady bird who slept alot, because I thought it might be easier on us to have an old lady bird who slept alot. Seems normal for an old bird to sleep more.
My old dog slept most of the time.

Gracie naps for about 15 minute intervals and is so spunky and playful she wears herself out.

my g2 Percy plays less and sleeps more very agresive play then a nap but for a 2 he is a lot calmer

they act just like old people when they get up there in age. Cranky and all.
