This will give you a good guess if you aren´t going to DNA. It´s not 100% accurate.
When I checked LapisLazulis bones when she was little they were still slose together, and they only widened at 6 months old. Though when I checked Adelies bones when she was young, they were already wide apart and I was able to sex her. Both females were later confirmed with eggs.
