After a very long illness my little girl has passed away. She has been sick for at least six months, she had such a strong will to live. As long as she was eating, playing I could not have her put down. There is in the small picture of Taffy in my signature. She was probable 11 plus in age. She was one of my own babies. When that clutch hatched I was so excited because I could tell that one was different. As soon as the eyes opened I knew it was an albino. Red eyes, she was so pretty. When she was a baby her beak looked like candy corn. She had babies of her own but she was not a good mother. I didn't realize until it was too late, that she was not feeding them or keeping them warm. All she wanted to do was play. She had a black plastic nestbox on the outside of her cage, she had a set of keys like a baby rattle has (separated) she would take and prop the lid open just a little bit on the nestbox. and just keep playing. I will miss her a lot. My bird are such a big part of me it is so hard to lose one. Fly high pretty girl and wait for moma at Rainbow Bridge.

I am so sorry. It is so difficult to lose a feathered family member. I hope you find comfort in knowing that she is at peace now, no longer suffering. Hugs.

Thak you all for the kind words. We all understand that helpless feeling when we lose a special baby, only other bird lovers understand us. So nice to have people that understand with a big shoulder to cry on. I have a lot more birds and most of them are senior's and handicapped in one way or another. They give back so much, I love them all, we appreciate the time God's let us care for them.
