My haul home from the organic food store

So I have been looking at a lot of organic food sites lately (like the one in Saroj's other post). With three teenagers, and three birds that eat like teenagers its not really feasible for me to order from these places unfortunately. So....I decided to make a trip to our local organic food store, buy a bunch of stuff, and see what I couldn't come up with. The one thing I wanted was Kamut flour, but no place had it so I'm going to have to do some digging on that. The first thing I'm going to try is something involving sweet potatoes (I think I got Yams though) since those are E's absolute favorite. The one good thing about birds is they don't know when you totally messed up! Here is what I brought home to experiment with. If something turns out decent and is approved I am going to post the recipes on my blog, and in my newsletter.

Looks like a good bunch of stuff. The way I learned how to tell yams and sweet potatoes apart when I worked as a cashier was "Yams are not yellow". Looking forward to seeing your recipes.

We have a winner!!!!! (and Jacque I am near Topeka, so basically the other side of the state lol. My brother lived in Liberal for about 13 years though, his wifes parents are from Great Bend I believe, Dunovan's?)

I was surprised and delighted they loved it! Here are some pics of the finished product and the taste testers, E was not about to move until he finished his piece lol, he was climbing down off his cage and I went to give him another piece and he literally ran back up to the top! I am going to post the recipe on my Facebook fan page and in the newsletter. Took me about an hour from start to finish so super easy! We shall deem them Sweet Potato Biscuits.

Aww looks great! I have a bunch of Bob's Red Mill flours too but never seem to have the time to make from scratch. I need to try. What is the link to your fanpage?
