my hanns macaw's beak

can someone tell me if this is normal on his beak P1010148.JPG . he has been shaking his wooden toys and we have noticed this on his beak it not cracked it looks like its shedding a layer . we feed him fresh beansprout, chillies , snap peas, sweetcorn , fig, apricot, purple sprouting ,carrot, orange, everyday and Johnston and Jeff premium no1 parrot food . we have a bird uv light that goes on for 4-5 hours a day

Yes, it's normal. He's a cutie :)

I took a look at that parrot mix and it looks to be mostly sunflower seed, corn, and peanuts - not particularly nutritious. I might consider a bit of a diet adjustment - that might help with the appearance of his beak.

It does look to me to be a bit long at the tip
It might be a little bit long but Hahnsies have a fairly long and pointy beak.

I agree as my hahnsie beak is longer and pointer than say a conure.....I questioned this when I got Charlie last July and it seems to be normal for a hahnsie ;)

Toys are the best. Especially wooden ones (as hard as he will chew).
