My grey wants to sleep in my bed!

Does anyone else have this problem?!?!

It all started when I first got her at 6 weeks, and she slept in a cardboard box on my bed. She would tuck herself in every night. She was very good and never soiled her bed.


Now she is over a year old, and though she has a night cage in my room, she prefers to sleep in the covers! (especially on cold nights)


I'm thinking this is probably not normal?!?!?

I know when ever my b/f lays down on the floor or the couch Billy is right with him, and will go under the blanket and take a nap while he watches t.v then he starts falling asleep - makes Billy mad because he puts him back in his cage So he can take the nap he wanted to take

He won't fall asleep if Billy is on the couch with him unless he's on the arm or the back.

But don't most birds sleep ON A PERCH? Mine sleeps on her back like a human. I don't really mind because she never poops in the bed. But I would never tell my neighbors who I sleep with!(I only share these intimate secrets with you roadies.) lol

I think it is darling. Those pictures are crazy cute I'm sure there is the risk of rolling over on her but I'm sure you have that risk cared for so I see not a thing wrong with it. You have to live life and looks to me like you and Gertie are living it up.

Monica, these pics of Gertie Goo are ADORABLE!!

I am SO glad to know that she only sleeps in the bed in the early morning hours while you are awake.
On another forum there was a member called TritonGreen who routinely slept with his grey in his bed all night. One morning he woke and could not find her. To his horror he found her at the foot of the bed tangled up in the sheets and lifeless. It broke his heart.

Dakota has only fallen asleep in our bed one time. I was watching a movie in the dark and she climbed under the covers with her head down and her butt sticking out in my face

It's understandable and cute as heck for sure Monica but it's very dangerous to sleep with your bird.
