My Favorite Hen

I lost my favorite fife hen earlier today. Poor thing was eggbound and weak. I could feel the soft egg. But she just didnt have the strength to pull through. My other hen (first time eggs) seem ok and sitting on five eggs. Tempted to inspect the eggs, but Im restraining myself from doing so. WHen things are not going well it feels like-----why?! But when you have healthy chicks its euphoria. This hobby can be a real emotional rollercoaster.

It really can be an emotional roller coaster! So much love and excitement, but losing a bird is so heartbreaking. I'm so sorry about your hen. :sadhug:

Just make sure that you feed your birds extra egg-food/calcium so this doesn't happen to anyone else.
