I have been wanting to share this story with all of you~
Sunday evening, I am letting Cochise and Holly out to play for their evening romp. I have Gryphon on my chest. As Holly is coming out and excited to be out, she is flapping her wings as she always does. I extend my hand out to give her a step up to the top of her cage. She pinches my hand, as she sometimes does...
All of the sudden, and I mean so fast it was like a blur, Gryphon flies at her, beak wide open, wings thrashing, feet extended straight out.!! Then as fast as is birdily possible, he flies back to me, then goes back for round two!!! I was like...
Oh no, this did not just happen! I could not believe it. He has been out when they are out, and there has never been any problems.
I asked him if he was out of his birdy mind!?!
Holly was like.."what just happened?"
I called Susanne..I just had to tell her. Susanne's thoughts were it was from jealousy..perhaps. I have a feeling it was more that he thought she was hurting me, and he was protecting me.
We had an extra long snuggle session afterward...

Hehe...wasn't that just crazy! I am going to be more cautious Ginger. I know with the wrong moment how bad things can happen...no we do not want anyone getting hurt.

LOL...dispite their size mousebirds can be very protective of 'their humans'. They don't care how big the bird is. If he was a WB he would have also growled at her. The WB sound like an African grey when they growl. The BN fluff up trying to look bigger and have their claws extended to get a good hold of the other bird.

For the last couple days, in my office, he will not leave me. He is sitting on my shoulder as I type this, ruffling and preening. He has been sitting there about an hour.

LOL....he is sticking close to you because I don't think he wants to share you with anyone. It will be interesting on how he acts when you get another BN You may have to make him a little crown to show he is the king of the house
