Oh yes! They spend most, if not all day outside of the cage with me when I work from home (All days now). Usually I just open the cage door when walk into the kitchen at beginning of the day and close it before I go to bed or if I need to go to the store or something. They follow a sinusoidal curve throughout the day. Chasing each other around the kitchen for 30 minutes, then 30 minutes of snuggle time back in cage or in one of their favorite spots (like pictured above), then back out again for some exercise, etc. I have trained them to stay in the kitchen too.

YES. Finches need a minimum 30x18x18. And they love having out of cage time, and will go back home at bedtime.
