Is it permissible or even possible to post the same thread in two places at once?

Usually duplicate threads get merged together. It's more beneficial to you that way. Most people browse by What's New anyways, and having all replies in one place makes it easier for people to see what's already been stated and spring board off of that.

It's more important to have a good descriptive title so it grabs the right attention.

Sometimes there is a thread we could put in a number of different forums, so just choose whichever you feel.
For eg, a question about budgie diet could go in Budgie boulevard or Feathered food court
