You ever have a project that so consumes your time that you feel like you lost an entire month of your life? That is what happened to me....spare time was minimal as I rushed to finish a work deadline that kept getting extended due to the complexity of the project. The birds? Not to worry....they were all well tended to every day, got fed their normal diet, got to spend their days outdoors, but I did not have the luxury of time to spend with them like I normally do, even though I work from home these days.
Today I put the Amazons outdoors in their daytime flights and gave their normal breakfast of fresh foods...but this time, I sat down to watch them.....just watch. Gosh, how much I missed taking the time to do that. I found myself then reaching for my camera. I cannot tell you how content I feel when watching them as they eat together as a flock and while away their days chewing wood, playing tag with a playmate, swinging on a favorite toy, and feeling the warm afternoon breeze. I looked at these photos after downloading them and thought, "you know, I think they look pretty happy, too."
Okay....well, here are this morning's pics:
First, let me start with my star --- Lolita (she is a cancer survivor)! Here she is perching on the edge of her flight that is attached to my office window:
She likes her corn!
She's even willing to share. LOL
Her brother, Tango, decided to get in on the action.
He decided he liked his jalapeno pepper better....and went back to it.
Cookie, his younger sister, thought that pepper looked kind of good. She wants some!
After a bit, Cookie (in front) and Cha-Cha (in back) decided to chill out for a bit and digest their veggie breakfast on the swing. Ahhhhh, what a nice start to the day.
