Mojo and KiKi where both out today as is now the norm there was the usual preening and playing about with no issues.
When KiKi has had enough she generally walks or flies away from away however today when she tried to walk away Mojo litteraly stood on her tail, i intervened normal service then resumed however after a few mins she done it again and i intervened again.
This happened a couple of times i was cleaning there cages at the time Mojos cage was finished so i put her back in her cage so i could crack on with KiKi's.

This clearly distressed KiKi and something i have not seen before.

Has anyone seen this behaviour ?
If so what does it Mean ?
They are both out again at the moment with no issues as of yet and are happily preening each other.

@Mizzely @Monica @webchirp @Zara

Any insight into this would be appreciated

I'm afraid I am not sure either! How old are they again?

KiKi is 10 months old Mojo is 9 months old we got Mojo first though.

They have been good as gold tonight with each other however Mojo bit my wife on the back of her neck.

I see this with my budgies; just teasing each other. Occasionally they'll even grab onto their brother's wing and hold on with their little foot.
It wasnt something KiKi appreciated so i was a bit concerned.

I've also seen birds do this behavior, but I'm not entirely sure why. If there's a mix between big birds and little birds, sometimes the smaller birds will stand on the larger bird's tail. This can sometimes result in the smaller bird getting a free "ride" to wherever the larger bird is going.

It could simply be something that they learn to enjoy and choose to keep doing it despite the bird who is being stood on doesn't appreciate it.

Yes, especially among budgies and cockatiels

Well I have watched Mickey and Chicky do this but it usually is associated with mating. Males will sometimes grab tails to let them know they are interested. Although likely not hormonal but maybe he's just being an annoying brat to her if he knows that it irritates her.
