Ellie passed away on Sunday, I was in Europe so I don't know what happened but she was sitting on her bed thing with her wings spread and eyes closed.. apparently she was doing super well the day before :( not egg bound, my parents checked.. I don't know.. she was almost 18 :'(

thankfully Minky is in good health but he is quiet since losing his friend :( I think I will spend plenty of time with him so he's not feeling lonely

Fortunately, unless a strong wind gust takes them, most parrotts will return to a happy home.

poor little guy was so scared, when I found the tree he had flown into he was calling for me, whistling, saying hello and wanting to get down.. I'm just glad a cat didn't get him  had to do some climbing to get him though LOL ended up with some bruises but its all worth it for my little guy :D

Here in Aust and in other places too - when a bird escapes and it is nice and hot - the most effective way to catch them - is to get a hose and let it "rain" on them till they are a bit too wet to fly effectively. Then you can catch them - dry gently with a towel - and put in a nice warm draft free place. This is less stressfull than having to chase them round.
