I'd appreciate some ideas.
I've picked up a bag of mini pumpkins that I want to bake for the birds.
I've never done this so a few questions, do I deseed first, or can I bake with seeds.
If I don't need to deseed, do I still need to take the top off when I bake?
I may stuff some of the pumpkins.
If I stuff (I have quinoa, wild rice, beans, couscous, etc.) should I do so before baking or after baking.
Thanks for any ideas.

I thought @Mizzely posted one recently, but I can't locate it so perhaps she'll have a link handy.

You can bake them whole if you wish to or cut the top off and remove the seeds- there’s no right or wrong way to cook them.

Burt loves the fresh pumpkin seeds so I always remove them first so he can munch on them, he also loves massive chunks of raw pumpkin to destroy (and eat) so serving them fresh is another option you have too.

You can add the other things (rice beans veg etc) either after it’s cooked or before- it’s totally up to you. Only thing I’d suggest is to use precooked rice and beans.

If you check Google there are some human recipes out there for stuffed capsicums, zucchini and pumpkins that you could easily alter for the birds.

I posted it on my IG :)

I just stab them with a knife a couple times, pop in the microwave for about 3 minutes, cut off the top, and then split it and top with veggies, grains, etc. Basically whatever I have on hand. And usually add cinnamon and ginger. This time I used an Anti Inflammation blend from Christine's Chop Shop :)

Do you roast the pumpkin seeds first? (for Burt)

I did the microwave thing, each bird got a small pumpkin.
Quartered them and put in a mix of beans, quinoa, wild rice, and a few other things in my pantry.
2 birds loved them, one wasn't quite sure.

Not bad for a first try.
I still have 3 more pumpkins for another batch.
