Could somebody please tell me the exact brand of milk thistle they use for budgies? There's so many and a lot of them have additives that could be harmful for birds.

I'd also love to hear what dosages people have used, if anyone is happy to share.

Thank you :)

You want to give them an alcohol free tincture. The one that I get at My Safe Bird Store is the Morning Bird brand. It has milk thistle and dandelion. I don't know of the exact dosage for a budgie. The label says "8 drops in 8 ounces (or 1 cup) of water or 1 drop by mouth for a small bird". I give my caiques the water dosage twice a week.

Morning bird is what we use as well. Vets can also prescribe Milk Thistle if you are concerned with dosage and brand.

The dosage should come from an avian vet that is treating the issue your bird is having. There is also milk thistle seed sold on Nuts.com but it may not be as strong as the tincture.
