Seymour is our green quaker parrot. About a year ago, mom and I had gone to the pet store to pick up a few things for the birds (you all know how that works). Well, there sat the most pitiful little quaker all by himself looking so sad and depressed. We asked if we could see him, so the clerk got him out and handed him to Mom. He cuddled up with her and I knew he was coming home with us at that very moment. The clerk told us someone had dropped him and another quaker off, but didn't know much more than that, other than he was between 4 and 7 years old and he had no name.
Seymour was not in the best of shape when we brough him home, he had no feathers covering his birdie ears, which I had never seen before! He looked so strange with those little holes on the sides of his head! He now has feathers covering his ears again, I'm guessing he was on a poor diet and that is what caused the lack of feathers, I really don't know.
Here we are a year later and he is my sweet baby boy! We actually bonded with each other immediately, and he tends to just tolerate the others. He has never bitten me, but he has nipped at mom a few times. My daughter and others cannot hold him at all, he will latch on and not let go! Seymour has learned so much since we got him, and he now says Love You! when I call his name. He also says "you're a good booooy", screams "right now!", makes a drinking noise when I drink my coffee, and chatters many things we don't understand. He is happy and healthy and an absolute joy to have with us.
